Therapy

Individualized, solution-focused support can help children, youth, and families to overcome obstacles and live productive, positive lives. Anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and family & parenting issues are some of the core areas that might be addressed in therapy.

Individual Service

Smart Steps’ services operate from a strength-based perspective. Our approach is centered on the concept that we already have the answers we need to solve the problems we face, and the strength and courage to make the changes we need to make. Therapy can help us to unlock these answers and find the right pathways to follow. The support and guidance offered in therapy can provide the insight and encouragement to make the positive life changes we need to live life to the fullest.

Child and Adolescent Therapy

All children and teens face some challenges adjusting and coping with the changes and stresses of growing up. Some children and teens may benefit from meeting with a therapist. If you are concerned about your child’s behaviour, please call for a telephone consult or to make an appointment.

Family Therapy

Family therapy can help your family manage the stress of a variety of life events. For example, when a child is diagnosed with a disability, family members may find one or more therapy sessions helpful to process this new reality. Family therapy can be helpful for any group of individuals that love one another; blended families or other configurations of the families may find this service to be helpful.

Behavioural Therapy for Individuals with Autism

Individuals with autism may particularly benefit from behavioural therapy based on the principles of Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA). Direct therapy or consultation to existing therapy programs is available.

Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your child, or you family as a whole, therapy can contribute to your overall wellbeing.
